New and Improved ANA Government Affairs Website is User
FriendlyLate last year, the American Nurses Association
(ANA) unveiled its new and improved government affairs website:
http://www.anapoliticalpower.org/.
As previously noted in the December issue of
Capitol
Update, this is part of a larger ongoing effort undertaken by ANA to
improve its online resources, and includes a number of upgrades intended
to make it easier for nurses to become engaged and active in the federal
legislative and political process.
The redesigned webpage provides
nurses with open access to information on ANA's political activities and
legislative policy priorities. Members can learn about ANA's political
action committee (ANA-PAC) and grassroots advocacy programs, or brush up
on federal policy issues directly related to your work. In addition, with
one click of the mouse, interested nurses can sign-up for Nurse Strategic
Action Team (N-STAT) legislative alerts and
Capitol Update ANA's
online legislative newsletter.
Thanks to the implementation of new
advocacy software, ANA now has the capability to quickly disseminate news
and updates on fast-moving federal legislation through easy to read e-mail
alerts sent to the members signed up to receive them. As a result, nurses
will be able to stay up-to-date on key legislation as it moves through the
legislative process in Congress. Furthermore, the advocacy alerts include
a simple method for nurses to take action on priority matters, allowing
members to easily connect with their elected officials in Congress and
lend their voices to issues of critical importance to the nursing and
healthcare community.
What are waiting for? Go online and check
out the new and improved
http://www.anapoliticalpower.org/.
Give it a spin and tell us what you think. The final re-designed site and
universal login feature should be completed this spring. In the meantime,
ANA staff will keep you informed about progress and the new resources, but
users with specific problems or questions should email
gova@ana.org.
