Prior to joining ANA, Matt led public affairs campaigns to engage and activate the American Heart Association’s volunteer community as federal grassroots advocacy manager. Prior to his time at the AHA, Matt was a senior associate with the Dewey Square Group’s grassroots practice, guiding issue advocacy campaigns for clients that included national non-profits, trade associations, corporations, and political campaigns.
Prior to joining Dewey Square, Matt served as a regional field director with the AFL-CIO, managing field staff and overseeing voter outreach efforts in Pennsylvania in 2006, Kentucky for the 2007 gubernatorial race, and Ohio and Virginia in 2008. He has also directed fundraising efforts for multiple Members of Congress and congressional candidates, crafting and executing successful finance plans. A Pennsylvania native, he served as a legislative intern in the office of former Rep. Tim Holden. Matt is a graduate of Swarthmore College and received a Master’s degree in Legislative Affairs from the George Washington University Graduate School of Political Management.
